ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES
Product RoHS Compliance
Aegis Lightwave is committed to protecting our environment through continuous improvement of our processes and products. A critical initiative that was implemented effective July 1, 2006, is the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive that has been mandated by the European Union. Aegis is fully supportive of, and in compliance with, the Directive.
In accordance with the RoHS Directive requirements, Aegis Lightwave can affirm that our product lines are in full compliance with the Directive, when including the 7B (IPC) exemption for lead solder systems, otherwise known as the “Telecom Exemption”. This represents “5/6’” compliance, which is acceptable for critical telecommunications components.
With the exception of the “Telecom Exemption”, Aegis can affirm that none of the substances prohibited by the RoHS directive are utilized in the manufacture of our products or in the packaging materials used to deliver our products to our customers.
Certificates of Conformance to the RoHS Directive can be provided to customers for all compliant products on request.
